Service Description

For stretching sessions, you are on a padded floor & on a massage. You wear clothes you would stretch in. To address your symptoms, we search for an area on your leg (for instance) that indicates where your body’s connective tissue (fascia) needs improvement. Using my foot, I press into the area that we have identified is sensitive. I coach you through basic movements, while my foot is holding on the sensitive point, in order that your connective tissue (fascia) changes. Yes, this dance of weight & movement can renovate fascia, restoring it to a healthier state. You are in charge of how much weight my foot has on you - for every stretch. Each movement is done more than once, moving location slightly each time, and held for about 20-30 seconds. Any discomfort you feel while actively moving disappears immediately. We are communicating all the time, “where do you feel this?, ” “do you feel your restriction?,” “what do you notice compared to the other side?.” Having your attention on where the sensation is, and communicating what’s on your mind, creates a mind-body connection that increases the effectiveness of your session. You are up and walking after many of the stretches to integrate the tissue change. This is where you instantly feel the changes, and improvements from when you walked in.
